For injuries that are not the result of work or motor vehicle accidents, your coverage options will vary depending on: i) if you are an Alberta or Saskatchewan resident, and ii) if you carry extended health coverage through a private healthcare plan.
Saskatchewan and Alberta Residents:
Saskatchewan Blue Cross, Alberta Blue Cross, or other extended health insurance plans/work benefit plans usually provide coverage for private Physiotherapy services (always consult your plan provider to be aware of coverage and if there are limitations to coverage). Private visits are paid for at time services rendered. Receipts for treatment costs can then be submitted to the patient's private plan for reimbursement.
